Speech Sound Production Therapy, also known as articulation or phonological therapy, focuses on improving how speech sounds are produced. If a person has difficulty saying certain sounds correctly—such as substituting “w” for “r” (e.g., “wabbit” instead of “rabbit”)—this therapy helps them learn the correct placement of their tongue to accurately produce these sounds and increase their intelligibility (i.e., the ability to be understood).
