K.O. Speech & Myo - Chicago provides high quality, individualized, and thoughtful therapy services in various neighborhoods of Chicago, IL. Our services are available in a variety of settings, including in-home, daycare, and private schools, as well as teletherapy sessions to best meet each family’s needs and preferences.
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including myofunctional therapy, speech sound production therapy, early language therapy, and feeding/swallowing therapy. With our specialized and comprehensive approach, we strive to empower our clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Meet the Owner
Kristen (Opsahl) Walor is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist and orofacial myofunctional therapist with a strong passion for impacting the lives of children and families through a holistic approach using her guidance and expertise.
Kristen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University. Since 2017, Kristen has been evaluating and treating children of all ages with a variety of speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and orofacial myofunctional disorders across clinical, school, daycare, and home settings. Kristen has worked with children as young as 9 months old through 16 years old, and also has experience with young adults between the ages of 26 and 36.
Kristen has a special interest and expertise in the area of orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) with 40+ hours of continuing education in the area of orofacial myofunctional disorders, including extensive training in the Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty (TOTS). She has a passion for diagnosing and treating OMDs, with her primary goals including determining the root cause, collaborating using a team approach to address underlying issues, and improving the affected areas of functioning, all while keeping therapy sessions fun, motivating, and productive.
What are Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs)?
OMDs are abnormal patterns of the muscles of the mouth and face that can negatively impact normal growth, development, and/or function of these structures.
